I decided to switch industries because I have always been interested in the metal industry. When I had a chance to try CNC grinding, I decided to take the job. My previous work experience includes different types of construction and repair work so this felt like a natural step for me. I have been very pleased with the training I have been given and the work community we have. Both of these things are very important – especially when you come from a different industry.

I am currently working as a CNC Grinder in tool reconditioning. I have been surprised by how many things you need to know to be able to, for example, resharpen drills. It’s not just about pushing a button on a machine. I am eager to learn new things and it is important to me that my work is versatile – it keeps your mind sharp. We all work here pretty independently, which is also a positive thing.
